SAP BPC with IBP Training
SAP strategy for planning domain within enterprise performance management is clear SAP business planning consolidation is the tool to use for SAP customers. SAP has decided to combine the both planning tools (integrated planning and BPC) in one tool being BPC unified.
SAP BPC is mainly designed to support the financial planning and consolidation process which has an accounting intelligence and data models.
Two different planning solutions on this basis have long been available:
SAP Integrated Planning (BW-IP) and SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC).
Both solutions can still be used individually on a classic SAP BW. Each solution has its own advantages and disadvantages—both technically and functionally. As a result, before introducing a tool like this, you need to analyze your situation and choose the best tool for you by comparing both solutions, taking both the IT perspective and the specialist department’s requirements into account.
So basically the introduction of BPC Unified and its long term goal to unite the best of both tools is good news. SAP BPC with IBP training unified provides various new options and attributes like data modeling, administration, and workflow are upgraded in the planning application. The UI of BPC Unified is also improved and developed with HTML5 instead of Adobe Flex. With the Unified version, the business is still in the lead. Unfortunately for the script logic programmers, FOX is now the language for SAP BPC with IBP training unified and it’s only maintained in the backend.
Most of these limitations are confined in the variant unified SAP BPC with IBP. This is a highlight of the limitations mentioned,
- No consolidation functionality
- NO web interface to maintain the FOX script syntax
- The security strategy is maintained from BW
- Comments in web forms and EPM add-in are not supported
Unified BPC with IBP will add value for organizations considering implementing an SAP planning solution in the future. The future releases of SAP BPC unified is very promising.
